The seminar series on “Ecological Issues from a Multidisciplinary Perspective” within the EPOG+ Erasmus Mundus program is a collaborative effort by the Graduate School of Sustainability and Transitions, the Centre des Politiques de la Terre (CPT) at Université Paris Cité and the Institute for Environmental Transition of the Sorbonne University Alliance (ITE).
Each session is facilitated by renowned global experts specialising in the respective field.
The ongoing significant ecological and social crisis impacting planet Earth, its territories, habitats, and inhabitants underscores the imperative to tackle systemic, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary environmental challenges.
The heightened awareness of the impact of human activities on crucial balances within the biosphere, including climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, substantial pressure on natural resources, and shifts in habitat dynamics, is sparking substantial political and social discourse.
Vital cycles like water, carbon, nitrogen, terrestrial or climatic phenomena, along with energy resources, constitute fundamental processes that must be reexamined today in light of their interactions with human activities.
The seminar will be facilitated by:
Cecilia RIKAP
Head of Research and Associate Professor in Economics at University College London’s Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP), associate researcher at CONICET and COSTECH Lab, UTC
